Audio+Link1/15/14 re the NANCY KERRIGAN v TONYA HARDING,(search:, nancy kerrigan,tonya harding,whack heard around the world,figure skating,olympics) Christine Brennan, sportswriter recalls covering the 1994 olympics story and the prelude to it in what has become to be known as "Whack Heard Around the World" re the two figure skaters, Kerrigan & Harding, the latter who allegedly arranged a "hit job" on kerrigan (the plan was to hit Kerrigan in the knee with a lead pipe so she couldn't compete & thereby Tonya would have a better chance at the gold medal, and so it happened but Kerrigan managed to recover in time for the olympics and eventually (actually very quickly) the plot & perpetrators were uncovered). Brennan also wrote a book about the "soap opera" (long title below). And with the Sochi winter olympics coming up,its becoming a topic of conversation again. Travis Rodgers has a morning radio show on 830am,southern California (maybe its syndicated nationally,not sure).
