11/10/13 re MY GRCH EAGLES,SEASON ENDS w/ LOSS 2 ZEELAND WEST (tough loss 4 my eagles...after going all the way last year to win the state championship, this time around they couldn't pull it off...also tough that they didn't have their star receiver,Drake Harris, for the entire season..might have made the difference, but congrats to the Eagles nonethless for a pretty good season with a lot of great kids playing excellent football ! I'm from the '85 eagles team that played under coach Bill "Moose" Holwerda et al Every time I post a clip about the current eagles football team I mention different persons from "back in the day". Today I'm thinking of Eric Spearmanm who played fullback on our team. He was a great guy. Hope he's doing well. & Also Shane Holwerda, another awesome teammate, among others; By the way,it may sound cliche, but I hope football is a "means to an end" not an end itself for people...especially in the Christian community...the game is an analogy for perseverance in telling the Good News despite obstacles,persecution,fumbles, occassional losses, etc. We may lose some battles but the only way we lose the war is if we quit.
